This event will highlight traditional and non-traditional partners as resources, promote collaboration, and equip health care professionals with tools to engage faith-based organizations. We will review the myriad of resources presented over the duration of the Taking Action on Preconception Health series and showcase short, intermediate, and long-term SMARTIE goals developed as a regional Preconception Health Action Plan.This program is designed to be interactive and your participation via video and audio is highly encouraged.
Objectives Discuss preconception health educational a strategy to impact maternal mortality rates and adverse birth outcomes. Review regional specific preconception health as a tool to address maternal mortality rates, preterm birth, and poor birth outcomes. Discuss collaborative opportunities that exist with faith-based communities. Describe the role of maternity homes in adolescent teens. Outline the services offered to engage youth and desired outcomes of these programs. Share collaborative efforts developed between maternity homes and other community organizations including faith-based and human service agencies. Discuss partnership with Maternity homes to make a difference in the lives of young women facing unplanned pregnancies.
